Book Review: Lullabies by Lang Leav
Rating: 3/5 stars 🌟
"There are things I miss that I shouldn't,
and those I don't that I should.
Sometimes we want what we couldn't—
sometimes we love who we could."
I was very curious about reading the next book in this series and was looking forward to it immensely. As I had already bought the boxset I thought I would give Lullabies a read straight after I finished Love & Misadventure.
It was definitely better than the first one but still I couldn't rate it higher than three stars. You could tell that she is older when writing this book as she had learnt from some mistakes that were made in her first one. I enjoyed being able to see Lang Leav evolve as a writer.
Her art has always been brilliant and is amazing in this too! Lang Leav tried sensual poetry in this anthology which didn't really work for me. It felt awkward and childlike. Although her rhyming has gotten better, she needs to work on the rhythm because it jolts a lot when reading.
Thanks for reading and I hope you will catch my next review on the last book of the box set, next week! Also, leave a comment and let me know what you thought of Lullabies!
